There are more than 600 Pages of Testimony for Holocaust victims from Lubaczow submitted by Mendel LEHRER who in 1957 lived in Bazel Street, Tel Aviv.
On one hand I am grateful for all the Pages he submitted. On the other hand I understand the limitations of one person trying to remember that many persons from his hometown.
I also wanted to make the connection between him and his ancestors buried at the cemetery in Lubaczow.
From the Pages of Testimony I found that his parents were Mordechai Zeew LEHRER and Tauba Rifka LEHRER nee KORN.
Mordechai Zeew appears as Markus Wolf in other records.
Mendel had a married brother named Fiszel Fischel LEHRER.
His paternal grandparents were Moses Dawid LEHRER born ca 1835, who died in 1915, and Chana LEHRER nee KOENIG, born ca 1849, who died in 1925.
Moses Dawid LEHRER is buried on Row 10, Grave 4 = Row 11, Grave 6.

On Mendel LEHRER's Pages for his close family, we see that he was married to Feiga nee STEINBRUCH, born ca 1910, and they had a four year old daughter named Reizel. He listed both Feiga and Reizel as murdered in Holocaust, and wrote that he himself was in Eretz Israel.
For his brother Fiszel Fischel LEHRER , he wrote that Fiszel was around 40 years old, a merchant, when he was murdered and that Fischel's wife and children were in Eretz Israel.
My theory at this point is that Mendel LEHRER may have left Lubaczow around 1936/1937, hoping to obtain certificates for his family to come to Eretz Israel.

BABAD
March 2016:
Sara ROST, born 1888 in Lubaczow, was the daughter of Noach and Rachel ROST.
Her husband was Rabbi Moses BABAD, born 1881 in Jassy, Romania.
The couple had two sons - Josef BABAD born 1905 in Lubaczow, and Feiwel BABAD born 1913 in Lubaczow.
The parents were deported from Wien and murdered in Majdanek.
The sons survived.

BABAD is an interesting family name, an acronym for Bnei Av Beit Din (Sons of the head of the rabbinical court). Thanks to Neil Rosenstein for telling me this.

BABAD, a family of rabbis. The founder of the family was Isaac of Cracow, son of Issachar Berish, a parnas of the Council of Four Lands, and grandson of Heschel, av bet din of Cracow. His children added the word Babad (an acronym of Benei Av Bet Din, "children of the av bet din") to their signatures, and it eventually became their surname.

The civilian death registers tells us that Seide TUMIM died in 1929.
He was born around 1861 and the son of Abraham and Breina Ita Alta TUMIM.
His unusual given name Seide means "grandfather".
The story I was told was that when a child was very ill, and to confuse the angel of death, the original given name was changed to Seide. Confirmation?
It is interesting that Seide is the name in the official death register.

In 1911, in Skole, Seide TUMIM's son Jossel TUMIM, born ca 1888, married Rifka Rechel BRATSPIES EPSTEIN.
The marriage register says that Jossel TUMIM was the son of Seide TUMIM and Chaja nee FRÄNKEL.
At the time of this wedding, Seide TUMIM was around 50 years old.
