An unknown family grave located?
Worth checking:
There is a Page of Testimony submitted for Sprinca MOND, wife of Mendel MOND. It says that she was born in 1877, and that she died in the ghetto in 1942. Her husband is noted as having died a natural death. The Page was submitted by the grandson David Scheps.
There is one Mendel MOND who died in 1916, 67 years old.He was originally from Lancut. If this is Sprinca MOND's husband , he was around 28 years older than her.
According to the Pages of Testimony submitted to Yad Vashem, Mendel and Sprinca MOND were the parents of:
Reizla Reisel SCHAPIRA / SZAPIRA nee MOND, married to Abraham SCHAPIRA / SZAPIRA, lived in Lubaczow.
Joel MOND, married, a merchant in Przeworsk.
Perl MOND, probably not married, lived in Lubaczow.
Szeindel SCHEPS nee MOND, married , lived in Blazowa.
My theory is that Sprinca MOND was the grandmother of David SCHEPS, but that he did not know, not living in Lubaczow, that his grandmother had died in 1940 and has a gravestone in Lubaczow.
If so, this is another person listed on the YIZKOR list as a family member who had died of natural causes before the German occupation of Lubaczow.
This gravestone is the latest gravestone I have found in this cemetery. To make this gravestone about a year and a half after the Soviet occupation started, must have taken a real effort.
Less than seven months later started the German occupation.
