Group One : Family Name on Gravestone
Group Five: Died after Dec 1938 |
Rachel STORCH died under the Soviet occupation, in the summer of 1940. Less than a year later, the German occupation started. Imagine the efforts of making this gravestone while living under Soviet rule!
Trying to find out more about Rachel STORCH, I have looked at this listing in the 1929 Lubaczow Business Registry:
STORCH

My theory is that this is Mendel STORCH. Mendel STORCH was married to Rachel STORCH nee BIENENFELD and they had at least three children, perhaps four:
1. Jakob Ber STORCH married Taube STRASBERG
2. Izak STORCH married Lieba HERZBERG
3. Chana STORCH born 1905
(4. Moses STORCH?)
According to a Page of Testimony submitted by the sister of Taube STORCH nee STRASBERG, Taube was born in Lubaczow in 1908), Tauba was married to Dov STORCH and they lived with their two children, a girl born around 1938 and a boy born around 1940, in Buczacz. The sister-in-law did not submit a Page of testimony for Dov STORCH.
These STORCH names are on the Lubaczow Yizkor list:
STORCH Yitzchak, Dov, Moshe and family
According to the Pages of Testimony submitted by Mr. Lerer (who used the spelling Szturek שטורק of the family name), these three brothers were grain merchants, and in their thirties.
Jakob Ber = Ber = Dov
Izak = Yitzchak
Moses = Moshe

Perhaps you can tell us about the STORCH family from Lubaczow?
