DEATH REGISTER
Ichel STRASS died in 1936 at the age of 88. He is buried in ROW 1, GRAVE 12.
In the 1906 Business Directory for Lubaczow there is
STRASS, Ichel Wood and Wooden Products trade.
YIZKOR LIST
On the Yizkor list for Holocaust victims from Lubaczow I once transcribed from Hebrew, there is a listing for
שטראס, יחיאל, מאיר ומשפחה
STRASS, Yechiel, Meir and family
My understanding today is that the Yizkor list made in Tel Aviv in the early 1950's include both relatives who had died before the war and those murdered in Holocaust. In this case Ichel STRASS died in 1936, and his son Majer STRASS, according to the Page of Testimony, was murdered in Holocaust.
PAGES OF TESTIMONY
There is a Page of Testimony for Majer Strass, born 1900 in Lubaczow, the son of Yechiel and Miriam STRASS. Majer Strass had lived in Lwow before the war. According to his relative who submitted the Page, he was single.
There was an additional Page submitted by the same relative for Majer Strass’ sister Chaja Gottlieb nee Strass, the daughter of Yechiel and Miriam. She was born in 1890 in Lubaczow, married and the mother of two children, and lived in Lwow before the war.
