Here comes my theory, based on the double name Moshe Shimson / Moses Samson and his father Samuel:
Samuel (HALPERN?) may have been born around 1810 - 1820.
As his grandson , named after him was born in 1899 or 1900, we understand he must have died after his grandson Berl was born around 1896 and before 1899/1900.
Moses Samson HALPERN was married to Ita. They were probably born around 1835-1840. If he is the person buried here, he would have been around 70 - 75 years old when he died. Any descendants named after him,Moses Samson, must therefore have been born after 1910.
Moses Samson and Ita HALPERN had at least these two sons:
1. Salamon HALPERN (ca 1863- 1936)
2. Israel HALPERN
Salamon HALPERN and his wife Breindla nee BELZ, had at least these six children:
1. Abraham HALPERN born ca 1890, married Cyrla GRUENWALD, died in
Lubaczow in 1915. Grave not located.
Lubaczow in 1915. Grave not located.
Son: Moses Samson HALPERN (1915 -1915)
2. Szyje HALPERN born May 15th 1892, died in New York in 1976.
Son: Samuel HALPERN
Daughter: Rachelle HALPERN
3. Berl HALPERN born ca 1896, married Zlata JAKOBI, lived in Krakow
Son: Samuel HALPERN
Daughter: Rachelle HALPERN
3. Berl HALPERN born ca 1896, married Zlata JAKOBI, lived in Krakow
4. Herz HALPERN , married , lived in Krakow
5. Samuel HALPERN, born 1899/1900, married
6. Golda Reizla HALPERN married EBERSTARK
6. Golda Reizla HALPERN married EBERSTARK
Israel HALPERN, was married to Chana Rachla. Israel and Chana Rachla had at least these two children:
1.Perla HALPERN, born around 1898, married DRUCKER
1.Dawid HALPERN born 1899, married
Son: Moses Samson HALPERN
Will it be possible to confirm my theory?
Here are the photos Sam and Tamar Halpern took in January 2016 of this grave:
Additional candidate:
Moses Samson HALPERN seems more likely, but it is a guess.
In 1910, would there be a Jewish or non Jewish newspaper from that area where the death of either Moses Samson SCHEINDLING or Moses Samson HALPERN would be published?
Thanks to Tamar Halpern and the information from Mina Balzam , Samuel HALPERN born 189/1900 is now registered here as the son of Salamon and Breindla HALPERN.
According to Mina Balzam's Pages of Testimony, three of her maternal uncles, sons of Salomon and Breindel HALPERN, were murdered in Holocaust with their families:
Herz HALPERN,married, who lived in Krakow.
Ber HALPERN, married, who lived in Krakow.
Samuel HALPERN, married, who lived in Lubaczow.
If these brothers had sons, one would expect they used the given Moses Samson and Samuel to honor their ancestors.
