ROW 12, GRAVE 9: Probably Rabbi Bezalel GLANZBERG, son of Moshe Jechiel

ROW 12, GRAVE 9

Originally I had seen that this was a rabbi with the given name of Bezalel and that he was a Levite.

I had seen that his father's first given given name was Moshe (Moses) but I had misread his second given name.

Now, in February 2024, with the help of genealogist Eric Feinstein, I feel fairly cofindent that this is the grave of Rabbi Bezalel GLANZBERG. He was the son of Moses Jechiel (Shmuel?) , a Levite , and the husband of Golda nee Fraenkel.

Bezalel is sometimes written as Zalel, Zallel or Zalek.

Rabbi Bezalel and his wife  probably  had  three daughters and four sons. See below.

 is Dayan and Moreh Zedek.

According to the text on his gravestone, Rabbi Bezalel  GLANZBERG was a rabbinical judge in Lubaczow.

The children of Rabbi Bezalel GLANZBERG and his wife Golda / Golde nee FRAENKEL included three daughters and four sons, who all seem to have moved away from Lubaczow (to Zborow, Sambor,  Uhnow, Cholojow ).

One son, Mendel Menachem GLANZBERG, emigrated to Canada.

Menachem Mendel GLANZBERG emigrated to Canada.  Canadian immigration records could provide year of birth, show year of immigration, who immigrated with him and probably also last residence in Europe before leaving for Canada. 

Eisig Eisik  GLANZBERG married Sara Kila RETTIG/REICH. They probably lived in Sambor.

Riwka GLANZBERG married USCHER SENDER MARGULIES. They lived in Uhnow.

Sara Reisel GLANZBERG  born 1867, died 1922. Was married to Mendel KAUFMANN and they lived in Zborow.

Israel Leibisch GLANZBERG born 1870 , married Beile KAUFMANN. The family lived in Zborow.

Moses Jechel/ Ichel GLANZBERG born 1872, married Margule ROTH.. Where did they live?

Chana GLANZBERG born 1876 married Leib WIENER. The couple lived in Cholojow.  Probably also in Dabrowa Niemiecka  where Zalel WIENER  was born in 1903 and Golda WIENER was born in 1909.

Dabrowa Niemiecka is situated 75 kim EES of Krakow, Poland.

Cholojow is now Uzlovoye , 56 km NNE of Lviv in the Ukraine,

Zborow is now Zborov, Ukraine, 88 km E of Lviv.

Uhnow is now Ugnev , Ukraine , 62 km NNE of Lviv

Sambor is now often written as Sambir, Ukraine and is situated 69 km SW of Lviv.
