It must have been during my visit in 2003 that I first found this gravestone.
With my mobile phone I called my mother and asked her to look up what was written about Lubaczow in her 1929 Swedish Encyclopedia ( Nordisk Familjebok).
This is the part relating to this grave:
During the World War the 11th German Army (von Mackensen) broke through the stronghold of the Russians between Lubaczow and Jaworow on June 12th to June 15th 1915.

But who was "Rachel, daughter of Efraim"?
The two persons named "Rachel, daughter of Efraim" did NOT die in June 1915.

1. Ruchla MAJER, daughter of Efroim and Reizla MAJER, was only five years old, according to the Death Register, when she died on May 16th 1915. It is unusual that a young child would get a gravestone in this cemetery, but could it be that the circumstances of her death were so extraordinary, the parents decided to raise this gravestone? Could it be the date of death was June 16th and not may 16th?
2. On October 6th 1915 another Rachla MAJER died. She was married to Benjamin Morawic and was the daughter of Efroim and Golda MAJER. This Rachel MAJER was born around 1880. Rachla MAJER's father Efroim was born around 1840 and died in 1915. Rachla MAJER's mother Golda was born around 1841 and died in 1919
