Most of those born in Lubaczow who later became Holocaust victims seem to have lived their whole lives in Lubaczow. Occasionally they had moved to other, often bigger Polish towns and cities.
But some had moved to other European countries and lived in those countries till they, in most cases, were deported back to Poland by the Germans. Some, according to the records, emigrated from Germany to Poland. In this case, I imagine "emigration" meaning Polish Jews who moved back to Poland before they were arrested and forced to do so in October 1938. From then on I imagine the definition was "deportation".
The early deportations took place around 1938, like the known deportation over Zbaszyn. Out of those who came then, some seem to have moved back to their home town Lubaczow. Others seem to have settled in the big cities like Rzeszow, and perhaps Warszawa and Krakow.
When the war broke out in September 1939, the situation for those who had returned to Poland the year before changed drastically. They had escaped Hitler's rule once, but now found themselves under the German occupation of Poland.
Some of those who had managed to escape the deportations from Germany in 1938, and had stayed in Germany, were arrested in Germany in 1939, imprisoned in Sachsenhausen near Berlin where they died.
As the Final Solution was implemented in Poland and in those countries occupied by the Germans, the destinations of deportations then were extermination camps - Auschwitz- Birkenau, Belzec, Chelmno, Majdanek and others.
